While the initial thought that many people have is that the idea seems silly, the truth is that they are actually very likely to keep you healthier for longer, and even make you live longer. The simple reason is, if you have a pet dog, you have to walk them. That walk gives you exercise that you may otherwise not get.
Simple daily walks have shown to reduce the number of dangers in people that contribute to deaths and poor health. However, it is not only the walks that will contribute to a better life. Any pet will give you a chance to feel relaxed, happier, and healthier. For example, keeping fish can give you relaxing times and help you to stay calm. Cats will give you companionship, and the list goes on. All pets, if treated right, will give you some health benefits. Keeping animals is a great hobby anyway, but now we know that it actually makes you healthier, there is no reason why you shouldn’t have one, or two!
