How often should you clean your pet during the COVID-19 pandemic?

Having a dog or any other pet does not mean you must have protective gear for them or cover them. On the contrary, practising essential hygienic habits, such as cleaning their paws, can go a long way in keeping your family safe.

The thing to watch out for is the chemicals in the detergents. Some substances, though friendly to humans, can cause harm to animals. Such include; alcohol-based sanitizers, bleaching agents, hydrogen peroxide, and all phenol compounds.

One good detergent for pets is the baby shampoo. Use this with water to wash your pet at least once a month or as the need arises. You should also clean them up as soon as you return from every walk.

Depending on the type of coat, you may have to wash some pets more often than others. Overall, pets mean the world to the owners and are an integral part of our lives during this uncertain and stressful time. They expect us to ensure they’re comfortable and safe as well. By considering perfect hygiene for your pets and providing our living space is clean, it is possible to maintain a strong bond with our pets.
