Are Dog Kennels Open During Covid-19 Lockdown?

There are a lot of questions around all aspects of businesses at the moment. For example, wondering if places such as dog kennels are open or not. Right now, there is no evidence to show that any pets or other animals can transmit Covid-19 to humans. However, there are some suggestions that the coat of those animals may be able to transfer Coronavirus through contact.

As of the time of writing this post, the main Governments around the world have decided not to implement any restrictions on the operation of any businesses that deal with animals. That means that they should be open. Although there may be local restrictions or other factors such as the owners of the dog kennels being unable or unwilling to work during the pandemic. But again, no laws are closing the kennels at this time.

While the kennels may not be closed, it is wise to remember that the pet’s fur, and other equipment such as leads and collars, can transmit human Covid from one person to another. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you take all precautions necessary. For example, ensuring you have clean hands at all times, and wear face coverings when dealing with people.

If you are not able to take care of your dog at this time, you need to make arrangements to have someone else care for them.
