Ferrets are becoming more and more popular, and as they are furry, inquisitive, and friendly, that makes them a popular choice for many prospective pet owners. However, as with all pets, you need to know if pet ferrets are dangerous before you buy one and invest your time. The first thing that I would like to say is, if you are not an experienced ferret owner, then you should always buy one from a baby (kit). That will allow them to grow up in your surroundings and you will also know how they are treated, and if there is any risk of diseases, etc.
No matter whether you have a kit or an adult ferret, though, you need to be aware that they do have the ability to cause you problems. For example, they can carry germs that can cause things from skin infections to more serious illnesses. Furthermore, they can bite if they feel threatened, so they are not advised for families with small children. All in all, no ferrets are not dangerous, but they can cause some issues if not treated properly.
