Can Pet Rabbits Eat Apples?

What do you think when you hear the words “rabbit food”? Usually lettuce, carrots, cucumber, and other salads. The truth is, though, that rabbits need hay to be their primary food source. Furthermore, they need some pelleted food, in moderation. So, what about “rabbit food”? Should you feed your rabbit things like fruit and vegetables? Can pet rabbits eat apples? The simple answer is yes, they can. However, there are some requirements.

Pet rabbits actually love fresh fruit and vegetables. In most cases, you would think that you should give them as many as they will eat. However, with pet rabbits, that is not the case. You should only ever give them fresh fruit as a treat, such as one or two teaspoons of it a day. Furthermore, do not let them eat the seeds.
