The latest series of Britain’s Got Talent kicked off on April 17th here in the UK, and immediately, it looks like it’s starting to be a dog act monopoly. The first show saw Tina and Chandi, the dancing dog, perform a ballet and conga routine that wowed the judges. Standing in for a sick Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh commented that it was the ‘best dog act’ he had ever seen. Simon Cowell loves dogs and has gone on record to state that he hoped a ‘talented dog’ would finally win this year. There is certainly lots of competition if the reports are accurate; they appear to have around ten dog acts from the auditions lined up for the show.
As for Tina & Chandi, they have sailed through to the next stage and may well need to develop another routine or adapt one they have if they are to impress the judges once again. Although their action is outstanding, too many repeats of the same will not hack it with the judges. Tina Humphery is no stranger to television, having already won £10,000 when scooping the top prize in a TV show in 2017, Graham Norton’s ‘When Will I Be Famous’ Chandi and Tina have also performed routines at the premiere dog show in the UK, Crufts. There are plenty of videos of the pair. Many are already on the website, www.chanditalenteddog.com, dedicated to talented dogs in general.
As for Britain’s Got Talent, many four-legged hopefuls did not quite make it through the audition, including a dancing horse, a talking dog, and a performing goat.
Many people may be surprised to see a dancing dog on stage, but these furry friends can learn and compete in dance contests. Numerous talented dogs have wowed audiences on shows like Britain’s Got Talent and America’s Got Talent with their smooth moves.
Training a dog to dance takes patience and dedication from the canine and its owner. It involves teaching basic commands such as sit, stay, and spin and then gradually incorporating them into a choreographed routine. The result can be truly impressive, with some dogs even performing intricate footwork or lifts with their human partner.
So can a dancing dog win a contest? Absolutely! There have been several dancing duos that have taken home top prizes in competitions. One well-known example is Matisse, and her owner, Jules O’Dwyer, who won Britain’s Got Talent in 2015 with their stunning routine involving jumps, costume changes, and stunts.
While it may seem like a fun and unique trick to teach your dog, remember that it requires a lot of hard work and dedication from you and your furry friend, but if you’re up for the challenge, who knows – you could be the next dancing dog duo to wow audiences on stage.
