The Great North Dog Walk – Best Paws Forward!

For the second year running, Triple ‘A’ sponsored the Great North Dog Walk, which raises money for Guide Dogs for the Blind, Pets as Therapy, National Canine Defence League, and Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

On the 22nd June this year, it was the 13th Great North Dog Walk, which is held at The Leas in South Shields. As well as being an excellent fundraiser for animal-related charities, the Great North Dog Walk is an ideal opportunity for dog owners to come together. Earlier on in the year, the Mighty Texas Dog Walk in America had set a challenge to beat their record for the most considerable number of dogs taking part in a walk.

Despite this being the 13th year of the dog walk, it certainly was not unlucky. Heavy rain, thunder, and lightning couldn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the many dogs and owners that completed the walk. A fantastic 4372 dogs took part in the trail, beating the previous record by 1255 dogs and bringing the World Record back to the North East. Well done to all those who took part. Triple ‘A’ is sponsoring the most significant dog walk in the world, and it’s all in aid of animal-related charities.
