Unfortunately, there are far too many reasons why animals of all kinds get left and end up in shelters. That fact is no different for rabbits. Whether it is because they are no longer cute when they grow up, to some people, or worse situations like owner death, or abuse. However those rabbits end up in a shelter, the question remains; should you adopt a pet rabbit? First of all, there is a lot more difficulty finding a rabbit shelter than say cats or dogs. However, a simple search on the internet will help you find one near to you.
If you are thinking of adopting a pet rabbit, the first thing that you need to know is that they will bring their past with them. Whether that is nervousness or just old habits. They are something that you will have to work around and get familiar with. The second thing that you need to know is that a huge percentage of those rabbits in shelters are going to be adults. Therefore, yes, you should adopt a rabbit. However, you need to do some serious consideration first.
