Crested Geckos are wonderful pets, and they are loved by many people all over the world. They have a cute appearance and intriguing personalities. However, as with all pets, you need to know what is involved with them before you own one. One of the main aspects of understanding pets before making a decision is knowing when you need to give them attention. All animals need some level of attention when they are awake, so, the question is; are Crested Geckos nocturnal?
They are not fully nocturnal, as you would think when you think about animals such as bats, but they are crepuscular. That means that their most active periods are in the twilight hours; dawn and dusk. However, they will remain relatively active throughout the night, feeding and roaming around their habitat. While that may sound like a bad thing, the truth is that it can be a good thing. If you have a busy life during the day, you may have more time in the twilight hours. That means that you have time to bond with and look after your new pet when it needs it the most.
Make sure that you give it plenty of hiding spaces in their tank for in the day. Crested Geckos will sleep under bark, leaves, and anything else that keeps it dark for them in the day.
