Having a dog is a wonderful feeling. You get companionship, unquivering love, and a best friend. However, where should dogs sleep at night? There is no right or wrong answer to this question, as they can sleep wherever you both feel is a good fit. There is no rule that says they can or cannot sleep in your bed, on the sofa, or in a dedicated bed for them. However, the things that you need to consider are: Are you comfortable? Is the dog comfortable? Can you both get a good night sleep? Where they sleep is not something you need a dog trainer for.
Dogs, like humans, are all different. Some sleep soundly, without moving much. Others move a lot and can make it difficult to let you sleep well. So, that is the first thing that you need to think about. Secondly, do they get separation anxiety? If so, you may want to let them be a bit closer to you than staying downstairs when you are in bed. However, they may be ok sleeping on a dog bed, or even on the floor, if temperatures are ok. All in all, the answer to where dogs should sleep at night is, wherever you both feel is most comfortable.
