Snails are everywhere; people like collecting insects and animals they find and keeping them as pets. As snails are one of the most common creatures found, can you keep them as pets? The simple answer is yes, you can. There is no reason why you cannot keep snails; they are easy to look after, interesting to watch, and educational for children, too. You need to do certain things to keep snails, though. You will need to separate juvenile snails, but here we will look at adult snails first.
You do not need a huge terrarium for snails, but you will need a layer of the earth around 2 inches deep, and it will need to have moisture in it. Snails love to hide in the dirt, but you need to ensure that it is not any old soil from the garden as it may have parasites in it; you need terrarium soil. Feeding snails is very easy; collect leaves such as dandelions, wash them, and put them in the terrarium. Once they start to wilt, remove and replace them.
