Female Maltese dogs are one of the longest life span dogs that there are, with an average of around 15 years. However, there are others with the same life expectancy, such as the Lhasa Apso, Australian Shepherd, and Beagles. However, there are also dogs with a longer life span, such as the Cockapoo with an average of 16 years, and Jack Russell at the same average length. Chihuahuas tend to live for about 17 years, and a New Guinea Singing Dog will live about 18 years.
