Some people who want pets just don’t want to have them in their home 100% of the time. That is understandable. It can make the home smell, take up valuable space, and be hard to keep clean. However, children still want pets such as Guinea pigs, and that raises the question; can guinea pigs live outside? Depending on where you live, the answer is yes. However, you do have to make some adjustments to their home if you plan to keep them outside all of the time.
For example, the weather can be too extreme at both ends of the year. It is often too hot in the summer, and too cold in the winter. Furthermore, if the ground becomes wet, it can make them very cold and dirty, which is bad for their health, too. A raised, weatherproof hutch is the best option that you have, but it will need to be large enough for them to run around in, and possibly a larger area with constant access to exercise, too.
