Admittedly, the idea of snakes being pets for kids is not something that we often think goes together well. However, sometimes, kids want a pet snake. If that is something that the parent or carer wants, it can be a huge benefit for the kids to get used to snakes. They are often animals that get a lot of bad reputation, and people are scared of them. While that should be the case in the wild, there are benefits to understanding snakes more so that you know how to deal with them. So, with that in mind, we will look at the best species of snakes that you can have if you have children.
There are three main species of snakes that are easy to get on with as a beginner. They are the Ball Python, California King, and Corn snakes. Yes, the Ball Python is larger than the others, so if you are a complete beginner, that may not be the best for you. However, these three species are relatively easy to look after, nonaggressive, if looked after properly, and they are not venomous. Corn snakes are probably the easiest to look after long term, as they are the smallest of the three when fully grown.
